Are you ready …

Holiday Cards 2009

I can’t believe I am writing about Holiday cards already!!  Yes, there has been a little chill in the air in the mornings and at night, but … to think about the Holiday Season and snow and Christmas cards is beyond me!  …but here I am writing away and getting ready to show my customers some of the cutest holiday albums EVER!

I have Five Holiday albums and I can’t imagine having any more!  There are so many creative, amazing designs out there!  If I had any more albums, I think I would overwhelm my customers and they would never be able to choose!

I have everything from Letterpress cards, flat printing, flat printing with embellishments, thermography, etc.  It all depends on what you want!  Flat printing can always be jazz up by adding a grosgrain or velvet ribbon.  As I showed in a previous blog, Copper Willow is also doing the cutest Holiday cards with little rhinestones on it!  In my mind, any personalized Holiday card is extremely nice and SO fun to get in the mail!

I wish I had a website that had all the different options to show all of my customers … but at the same time, it wouldn’t do the cards any justice.  It’s always better to see them in person, and feel the quality of the paper and see how the colors will print.

There are many different motifs that customers can choose from with Page Stationery which I like … and you can always switch around fonts or colors and make it truly your own!

Mustique Wedding Invitation

Mustique Wedding Invitation One of my best friends, Courtney, is getting married on Mystique Island this Fall.  While it is a beach wedding, the invitation needed to set the tone for the wedding.

Courtney decided to go with a letterpress invitation by Page Stationery and we had the envelope calligraphy done by my girl, Jill, at Copper Willow!

The Sand-Dollar and text is in navy (as that is the color the bridesmaids will be in) and the background paper is a light, powder blue (which is one of Courtney’s colors).
To keep in touch with the color palette, we had the calligraphy done in a midnight blue ink.  Everything turned out amazing and the invitations were exceptional!

Wedding Invitations …

Kristin's Wedding Invitation I am absolutely in love with the invitations that I did for Kristin Marshall.  They are so elegant, classic and beautiful!!

I know Kristin from High School and am so thrilled that I was able to do her wedding invitations with her.  It couldn’t have been an easier process either!

Kristin decided to go with Copper Willow (one of my favorites!!) and chose to have the whole invitations done in Hand Calligraphy.  Jill at Copper Willow did an exceptionally beautiful job.  Her calligraphy is a work of art!  Instead of using black which we thought would look a little harsh on the paper, we went for a charcoal color ink on this letterpress invitation.  To add a color into the mixture, Kristin decided to use a light yellow color envelope liner.  We also used a nice, thick paper with an amazing texture to it.  You can actually see the texture on the paper in the pictures.

Whole Invitations Set

Instead of having typical square corners, we decided to round the corners on the invitations to make all the edges seem a little more “soft”.  Jill, from Copper Willow, also added a little embellishment on the bottom of the invitation to separate the dinner and dancing part of the invitation from the formal part of the invitation.  She added it in on her own and Kristin and I both loved her idea and the extra touch!

The invitation turned out just perfect and I hope that all of Kristin’s guests love them as much as I do!

Amazing new finds!

I just finished my first trip to the National Stationery Show at the Javitz Center in New York City!  It was so fun and I finally got to meet all the people I’ve been emailing back and forth with and talking to on the phone!!  It was so great meeting the girls at Copper Willow, Dabney Lee, Fontaine Maury, etc.  Best of all, I got to see all of their new creations and what will be available for me to sell soon!  I CAN’T WAIT!!!

I was able to preview Copper Willow’s Holiday book which I can’t wait to get my hands on!  It’s a little hard to think about Christmas and Holiday invitations, and Holiday cards when its been 75 degrees out lately, but … it’s new and different and I know that the notecards, greeting cards, photo cards, etc will just fly out of here.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want the cold weather AT ALL, but … it’s fun to think of a new season and new stationery that you need!

I was also able to pick up a few new lines that I am excited about.  I heard about Linda and Harriet from my friend Kelley who knows the two girls that run it.  As soon as I saw there stuff I was in love!

Here are a couple of pictures that features some of their cute products.  I’m so glad I was able to get these in time for my trunk shows that are coming up.  I know that they will be a big hit and I will be re-ordering soon!  I can’t wait to use them personally and write thank you notes on them.

They have the absolute cutest letterpress greeting cards and note cards.  They also have really fun and extremely cool notepads.  I love to see new, fun, unique designs out there and these girls have created quite an amazing line and I can’t wait to continue working with them and selling Linda and Harriet cards!

Baby Announcements, Invitations, etc.

Baby Announcement

Birth Announcement

I am absolutely in LOVE with these baby announcements that I have found at Littleday Press!!  They have the absolute cutest designs and make any announcement, invitation, etc. very special.

There are a bunch of new designs, and they are always coming out with new, so be sure to be in touch with me if you need to see the rest of the cards.

I don’t even remember how I came across Little Day Press, but as soon as I saw their work I had to carry their line!  They just started wholesaling and I jumped on it the second it was available!  They also do fun Holiday Cards, but I will feature those closer to Christmas.

Birthday Invitation

Birthday Invitation

For every invitation or announcement that they do there is a matching thank you card.  You want to be able to thank people for all the gifts, and what better way than to write it on the cutest notecard that matched the invitation!!

I am obsessed with this cake card.  My boyfriends twin nieces are turning three this summer, and I’m dying to use this card for their birthday party!  Of course you can put whatever age you want on it!  It just so happens that they are turning three!

Save the Dates

Save the Date

Another friend of mine just got engaged recently so I went over to visit her one Sunday morning to show them a few of my books to see if they could find anything for a Save the Date Announcement.  Kim absolutely loved the Magnolia invitation that Copper Willow designed.  It was the perfect invitation for Kim as she is getting married in Kiawah Island and the flower down there happens to be the magnolia.  The artwork for this design is terrific.  So detailed and ornate.

Kim chose the colors Sage and Charcoal.  I loved that we did it in Charcoal as black can be a little harsh sometimes.  The colors went great together and made for a very sophisticated Save the Date.

Save the Date and Weekend Itinerary Insert

Photos by Copper Willow

Since Kim is having a destination wedding, it was important that she send out hotel accomodations and a weekend itinerary to her guests for the wedding weekend!  To keep the magnolia theme going, we were able to put a smaller magnolia image on the top right corner of the insert.  All the information fit onto the card just right and made for a beautiful Save the Date!

Custom Wedding Invitation

I never really thought about doing wedding invitations … but then a good friend of mine, Lindsay Wernert, got engaged and I desperately wanted to do her wedding invitations!!  It worked out perfectly as her soon to be brother-in-law is an artist and she wanted to incorporate his work onto her wedding invitation somehow.  Luckily enough, I had Copper Willow!!!  They are the most amazing company!  They allowed Lindsay to use the artwork she wanted, in the colors she wanted and they produced the most spectacular wedding invitations I have ever seen!

Lindsay chose to use a handmade paper.  It is extremely soft and has raw edges and looks absolutely phenomenal!  She chose the colors Cornflower and Ocean for the design, and then the ink color was navy.  The blues all blended together perfectly.  She used a light blue liner for the envelope and it made the whole presentation pop when you opened the invitation.

Copper Willow Calligraphy

Copper Willow Calligraphy

Jill at Copper Willow does AMAZING Calligraphy.  My dream has always been to do calligraphy, but I have not had the time to do classes or really learn the art of it all.  Jill on the other hand, has mastered calligraphy.  She has many different styles and her work just blows me away.  I’m SO glad that Lindsay decided to use Jill to do her Calligraphy.  The Calligraphy on the envelope and on the invitation matched … the color ink on the inside matched the color ink done with Calligraphy … all together it was just spectacular!

Trunk Shows …

First Trunk Show

First Trunk Show for Small Field Papers

This picture was taken at my first trunk show that my mom threw for me!  Little Clementine had to make the picture!!  Behind me you can see a small set up of Fontaine Maurys items.  They have the cutest customizable onesies and stationery for kids!  They also do melamine plates which are great for both kids and adults!  They make great presents and are totally customizable.

Thank you to my mom for setting up the trunk show, but to all of her friends that came over and supported Small Field Papers!!  It was so fun sharing everything that I have found and what I love with others.

Letterpress Stationery from Copper WillowMy mom had tons of these Nantucket baskets that she made lying around the house which made for great paper holders.  Here you see Copper Willow’s Letterpress Printed Stationery.  Copper Willow paper is made in an eco-friendly  studio out of soy inks on tree free paper.  What’s better than amazing stationery that is also ‘green’?  One would never even know how eco-friendly their paper is, but its great that they include a little note saying how the product was made and with what.

Small Field Papers

Small Field PapersSmall Field Papers grew out of my love for personalized stationary … plain and simple.  I wanted to be able to have it all at the touch of my fingers and be able to share fun and new exciting lines and papers with friends and family.  I started my company in November of 2008 and have loved every second of it!

I started reading blogs to find out more about the stationery world.  I was amazed at all the creativity and designs that were out there that I had never seen before.  I desperately wanted to start my own company and represent companies that weren’t easily accessible.  I obviously wanted to have my long time favorite designers Sweet Pea Designs and Boatman Geller, but also wanted to find new designers!!  Hours were spent on the computer finding lines that I loved, contacting the companies to see if they wholesaled out there work, filling out paperwork, etc.

I never thought of diving into Save the Dates or Wedding Invitations this early on, however, with so many friends getting married and the demand for wedding designs, Small Field Papers began to grow!  Not only was I able to do stationary for the bride to with her new initials, but I was able to create her dream wedding invitations.

I love beautiful papers and everything that goes into making stationery fun!  Bright colors, cool designs, and fonts all go into making your stationery YOU!  I love what I do and am lucky that I have been able to start Small Field Papers!
